About Feminists for Jina
“Feminists for Jina” is a network of feminist collectives and activists from different cities around the world, with diverse lived and learned experiences and viewpoints, united to echo and reinforce the voice of the ongoing “Jin, Jiyan, Azadî” Revolution of Iran and to strengthen its transnational elements.
Since the beginning of the revolution in Iran, the slogan, “Jin, Jiyan, Azadî” has brought those of us in the diaspora together and Jina has become the symbol of our fight. “Jin, Jiyan, Azadî” Revolution has strengthened our determination to unite in order to achieve our goal of equality and freedom, and to fight alongside the people inside Iran and other feminist liberation movements for making a better world. By making new connections and reviving older ones, we have gathered from different geographies in order to imagine a different world, especially a different Middle East. We want to move towards a world where there is no war, execution, prison, torture, discrimination or femicide. A world where no one is oppressed because of their sexual orientation or gender identity, and everyone can dress, love and dance as they wish. A world where housing, healthcare, food, recreation, and other basic human needs are provided for everyone. A world where nations, peoples and communities have the power to determine their own destiny and are free from domination by individuals, groups or nation-states. A world where religion, language, physical ability, race and ethnicity are not sources of privilege or cause for discrimination. A world where both humans and the earth are treated with justice.
A world where there is hope to repair relations with nature. Jina is the symbol of our fight to make this world a reality. We are Feminists for Jina.
Feminists for Jina Network is independent of all political parties and groups and is not receiving any financial aid from any organization or political party.
